2004 Chevrolet Campulance Conversion!

2004 Horton former medium duty ambulance conversion mounted on a Chevy Kodiak chassis with 6.6 Duramax diesel with 114000 miles.

The truck is equipped with On Spot automatic snow chains and air ride suspension.

The cab's floor, rear wheel wells, and backs of the aluminum cabinets have been covered in Kilmat sound-deadening material. A new RV jackknife sofa sleeper has been installed. The refrigerator/ freezer is a high-efficiency Whynter 62 qt. compressor chest running on 110 or 12 volt.

The module has been stripped to the frame, module wiring is now separated from the truck, walls & ceiling are fully insulated then covered in Reflectix, walls have 1/2 inch painted plywood, and all inside lighting is LED.

The water system is portable on quick-release fitting with a Shurflo pump and accumulator. Grey water is 7-gallon portable jug, and fresh is 7-gallon with room for another 7-gallon container.

The counters are butcher block sealed with mineral oil and have a deep stainless steel sink with a faucet. The sink drain has a Hepvo water-free trap.

Module batteries are 2 -VMAX AGM 6 volt 225AH in series (12 volt), 1000 watt pure sine progressive dynamics inverter with remote and auto change over, Xantrex 82-0123-01 Echo Charger (charges truck batteries while using 110 power), Red Arc 250 battery isolator, Progressive Dynamics RV Power Control Center with AC/DC Panel and Converter/Smart Charger with 50 amp RV outlet.

The cabin has multiple lighting circuits, 12 volt and 110 outlets.

The interior climate is regulated while driving by front and rear ac and heat units. The rear climate is controlled in the front console or rear panel. Running on shore power, you have a 12,000 BTU Senville mini-split heat pump that supplies AC or heat with less than 1100 watts of power. You can easily run this unit on a 2000-watt generator (not included) or a single 110 outlet.

Off-grid you can cool down with the reversible Fantastic fan or warm up with the Dickinson stainless propane-powered gas fireplace. On board 30-gallon propane tank with leak stop protector mounted in a marine style LPG vented locker (former oxygen tank locker).

Original heavy vinyl floor is intact and is covered in removable commercial carpet squares. There is a small bathroom compartment near the rear doors equipped with a cassette toilet.

Although no hot water tank has been installed there is a breaker ready to wire and a location next to the water storage for a Bosch electric unit (approximate cost with plumbing and electric $250-$300).

The Duramax diesel runs strong and has been achieving 10-12 MPG and is equipped with a super dependable Allison transmission.

The Horton company is considered one of the premier builders. The all-aluminum module is framed with heavy square tube, the wall skin is 1/8 inch (no exterior rivets), the roof is one piece 1/8 inch and the floor is 3/16 aluminum and full plywood.
